balanced eating: A way of eating that promotes good health.
body mass index (BMI): An estimate of the fat content of the body.
eating disorder: Mental illness in which people feel compelled to eat in a way that causes physical, mental, and emotional health problems.
metabolism: The sum of all the biochemical reactions in an organism.
MyPlate: Visual guideline for balanced eating; replaced MyPyramid in 2011.
obesity: A condition in which the body mass index is 30.0 kg/m2 or greater.

Maintaining a healthy weight is important for a healthy lifestyle.
Healthy weights vary for each individual, and are based on a number of factors.
Obesity may result from a high caloric intake with little or no physical activity.
Eating disorders can be very unhealthy.
