Professional Development Guidelines

As you reach out to our trainers and set up any meetings, please keep the following in mind.

Trainings should focus on CK-12 and/or its integration with a Learning Management System, unless otherwise agreed to by the school/district and the trainer.

Trainings should be capped around 30 people per CK-12 Certified Trainer - with the option to expand that number for virtual trainings provided the school/district has someone to help with Q&A and hosting the training.

We value the effort and experience of our CK-12 Certified Trainers and expect schools and districts to compensate them for their time. Recommended amounts are as follows (for U.S. based trainings) and should address their time for both prep and training that is needed for each offering. Final time, amount, and invoicing to be agreed upon and addressed by school/district and trainer. Trainers are not employees of CK-12, and CK-12 is not part of any final agreement or payment process for professional development done by our CK-12 Certified Trainers through this general program.

  • $125/hr for online - 2+ hours
  • $200/hr or $1200/day in person - 4+ hours - Plus expenses
  • $125/hr for prep time (up to 1 hour of prep per 1 hour of training)

Sessions are for individual school/district professional development. Schools and districts are welcome to email support@ck12.org for technical and other assistance and/or utilize the various resources CK-12 offers for free, including our quick overview videos, webinars and Certified Educator Program.
